EXPECTED RESULTS
What do you expect?
If expected results are recorded (not blank) and expected results don't equal test results, your email is marked URGENT!
If the you leave these fields blank, they are ignored. If filled with your "expected result" and those results don't match what you expected, your emailed test results are marked urgent. This is the foundation for our monitoring service.
Example: You installed a premise based voice mail system and requested (AGAIN!) that the carrier remove their central office voice mail box(COVM). The customer has a 4 line hunt group. Note: "<>" means not equal to.
Test setup scenario #1 for 3am.
- You set connections to 4
- You call 6 times to achieve possible overflow to the COVM.
- You call at 3am when system is quiet
If connections does not equal 4, you can assume they did not remove the COVM or your vm system is broken. As expected <> achieved, you will get an urgent email!
Test setup senario #2 for NOW. (Don't want to wait)
- Expected Busy? = 0
- Calls made = 5. (One more call than hunt has lines. You will always want to send one more call than expected capacity.)
If Expected Busy <> 0 the COVM is gone. If no busy, the calls are still overflowing to COVM.
A good scientist "sets expectations". Hacks just take a whack at it. Don't test blindly!
